The Hans Raj Smarak Schools are run by Hans Raj Smarak Society (Regd), founded in 1968 by Prominent Mahajans of Delhi and in other parts of India in the memory of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, advocate, a social reformer and founder of All India Mahajan Shiromani Sabha. Lala Hans Raj was born in a small town, Hamirpur, district Akhnoor , J&K in 1866. He was the visionary scholar reader of Chief Justice in Jammu and Kashmir high court, deputed as a registrar. Hans Raj Smarak School was established in 1968 and a seed was planted at J-5/2, Krishna Nagar, Delhi. Today this Tree stands tall with its root fixed firmly and its are branches sheltering many lives.The beginning was visionary and foresightedness of dynamic and genius founder of Hans Raj Smarak Society Ms .Adarsh Sharma, the founder Head Mistress nurtured the vision to fulfil the dream with commitment and dedication.
Recognition by MCD for Primary school was accorded on 30th October,1984. The school was upgraded up to class VIII and got recognition by Education Department of Delhi Adminstration on 30th May,1989. The school was shifted to Dilsahd Garden,Delhi-110095 on 2 acre land allotted by DDA in 1995 for the Middle School .The branch at Dilshad Garden started functioning at the present location in the year 1996.
Both the schools in present form are the result of dedication and hardwork of various teams headed by its Chairmen namely, Late Dr. Kundan Lal, Late Babu Lal Gupta, late Sh. Rajeshwar Singh, Late Sh. Suraj Prakash Mahajan , late Sh. Tilak Raj Mahajan , late Sh. Harbans Lal Gupta, Late Sh. Chaman Lal Gupta, Late Sh. Vishwa Mitter Mahajan, Dr. Ved Vyas Mahajan , Late Sh. Banwari Lal Mahajan, Late Sh. Chander Mohan, Dr. Sudesh Rattan, Late Sh. Prem Sagar Gupta, Sh. Mahander Kumar Mahajan, Sh.Arun Kumar Mahajan, Sh. B N Mahajan, Sh. Umesh Mahajan, Late Sh. Ashok Mahajan and the Present Chairman Sh. Suresh kumar Mahajan.
The school building was renovated in 2016 to enhance the infrastructure with latest technology and increase the no of classrooms to cope with increasing strength of the school . Today school is a four storied building with Smart Classrooms, a Library, a Computer room, Sports Room with all kinds of indoor games, and a small Playground for kids with different swings, an Activity Room, a Staffroom and a Canteen. School premise also boasts of a Charitable Homeopathic Dispensary being run by Mahajans.
